Wed 11 –The Sixties - How do the 1960s look 50 years later? On Wednesday, January 11, historian Meredith M. Brown takes a candid look at a decade of war, political turmoil, social upheaval, and cultural (and hallucinogenic) experiment. February 2012

Thur 9 – Elise Lemire of Purchase College examines how freed slaves shaped a town at both the center of the American Revolution and American Literature. In her award-winning book Black Walden:Slavery and Its Aftermath in Concord, Massachusetts (2009). Dr. Elise Lemire is a Doris and Carl Kempner Distinguished Professor of Literature at Purchase College , the State University of New York, where she specializes in race and culture in the northeastern United States.
