January 2012

Wed 11 –The Sixties - How do the 1960s look 50 years later? On Wednesday, January 11, historian Meredith M. Brown takes a candid look at a decade of war, political turmoil, social upheaval, and cultural (and hallucinogenic) experiment. February 2012

Thur 9 – Elise Lemire of Purchase College examines how freed slaves shaped a town at both the center of the American Revolution and American Literature. In her award-winning book Black Walden:Slavery and Its Aftermath in Concord, Massachusetts (2009). Dr. Elise Lemire is a Doris and Carl Kempner Distinguished Professor of Literature at Purchase College , the State University of New York, where she specializes in race and culture in the northeastern United States. The Capt. N.B. Palmer House is open for group tours by appointment November - April.

The Old Lighthouse Museum is open weekends in April & November from 10am - 4pm, and for group tours on other days by appointment.
