"Once Upon Quoketaug" The Biography of a Connecticut Farm Family, 1712-1960

This classic recounts the history of the Williamses, who farmed atop Quoketaug Hill in Stonington
for nearly 250 years. The farm, the family, and its ways of life are affectionately recounted by
Professor Favretti, who worked there as a teenager. He went on to become a distinguished professor of
landscape architecture at the University of Connecticut. He chronicles the cycles of birth, living,
and dying among the Williams family and the creatures they tended in a unique combination of intimate
recollections and scholarship. This is the third in the Society's Ramsbotham Editions series, named in
honor of Captain Robert J. Ramsbotham, longtime president of the Society.
